Does this include the Starlink Mini?
No. SETBOX is the housing and mounting system. It is built to fit the Starlink Mini you already own.
Does the housing block the Starlink signal?
No. ABS is transparent to the signal, which is exactly why there is no metal over the dish. No effect on speed, no effect on latency.
Wait, plastic? Is what durable enough?
Yes. Injection-molded ABS is what carmakers use for exterior trim, mirror housings and grille surrounds: parts expected to live outside a vehicle for a decade. This is not a 3D print and not a budget material.
How does it handle heat and cold?
The housing is rated from −40 °F to 122 °F, and the ABS is pigmented with a UV stabilizer, so it holds its color instead of chalking out after a summer on the roof.
Does color matter if my rig lives in the sun?
White, Grey, Olive and Black are available. If you are running desert heat or parking out in the open all summer, pick White: light colors reflect heat instead of absorbing it, which keeps the dish cooler. For normal use any color works.
How much power does the mount draw?
None. It is a passive housing. The Starlink Mini itself draws roughly 20 to 40 W depending on load.
It lifts off in seconds. Will someone steal it?
A stolen Starlink is worth nothing to whoever takes it. The dish is registered to your account in the app, and without that account it cannot be activated.
What surfaces can I mount it on?
Steel, aluminum, fiberglass and glass. One kit covers all four.
Do I need to buy anything extra for a non-magnetic roof?
No. The metal plates for aluminum, fiberglass and glass are included in the box.
Do I need to drill into my vehicle?
No. The neodymium magnets hold the housing on their own. No holes, no adhesive on your paint, no permanent modification, and the whole kit lifts off leaving the panel as it was.
How long does install take?
About two minutes. Set the housing where you want it and let the magnets do the work.
Can I drive with it mounted?
Yes, at highway speeds. Owners have run it thousands of highway miles and through rough offroad trails without it shifting.
Will the magnets scratch my paint?
No. Every magnet face is rubber coated, so nothing metal ever touches the panel.
Where on the vehicle should it go?
Roof, roof rack, hood, tailgate, anything reasonably flat with a clear view of the sky. Nothing about the kit is vehicle specific.
Where do you ship?
All 50 US states, including Alaska and Hawaii, tracked end to end. We do not ship outside the United States at this time.
When does my order ship?
Orders leave our facility within 2 business days. You get a tracking number by email the moment the parcel is handed to the carrier.
What if I do not like it?
Send it back within 60 days for a full refund, no restocking fee.
What is the warranty?
Lifetime on the injection-molded ABS housing: if it cracks or fails in normal use, we replace it free and cover ground shipping in the US. The magnetic hinges, the rubber coating on the magnet faces and the adhesive metal plates are covered for one year from delivery.
